Wedding icons
The Wedding couple – a conventional name for a composition of two icons: the Saviour and the Mother of God. This set is a base of each church, chapel and orthodox home. These icons as a rule come to houses after the Holy Matrimony (church wedding ceremony). That’s why they are called – the Wedding couple.
Since old times wedding icons have been passed from parents to children. Nowadays orthodox traditions are very popular. Wedding icons are often bought specially for a wedding ceremony and they become a guarantee of a happy family for all generations.
